Mission Statement
Humanists derive their ethics from compassion and scientific reasoning rather than dogma or tradition. The mission of Lincoln Secular Humanists is to defend the separation of government and religion, fight intolerance, educate the public about the importance of secular society and encourage scientific inquiry and discussion.
We are a 501c3 non-profit, non-partisan, and non-sectarian group.

Weekly Social Night
Please join us at our weekly Social Night which starts at 7pm every Friday at the LUNk House, 1213 N. 12th Street (just north of 12th & Charleston). Guests are always welcome! Our Social Nights are informal and fun, we usually discuss current events or whatever else may be on our minds. Every last Friday of the month we will have a potluck and do a fun event (games, contests, etc.) or a movie showing.
What We Do
LSH exists mainly to provide a community and social support network for local people of like mind but we are also involved in many other aspects of our community. We are involved in several local charitable projects and fundraisers for progressive causes. We put on movie/documentary showings, publish a quarterly newsletter, host community debates and forums, and do all that we can to promote humanism. LSH organizes many celebrations and events for local secular-minded people, some examples are: our annual Winter Solstice Party, Darwin Day, World Humanist Day, National Day of Reason, etc. We engage in activism whenever necessary. We have fought against groups opposing reproductive rights, continually protested the intrusion of religion into government, and the attempts at teaching creationism in schools. By joining us or donating you will help us to achieve our goals.
